Sam Bradford Expects To Play In Week 2 Following Injury Vs. Eagles

Sam Bradford, at least, expects to play Monday following the St. Louis Rams’ cavalcade of week 1 injuries.

The St. Louis Rams lost his favorite target, Danny Amendola, indefinitely, but Sam Bradford expects to play next Monday night against the New York Giants, despite what Bernie Miklasz has reported is a range-of-motion issue with his not-broken finger on his throwing hand. That’s good news for a Rams team that hasn’t exactly been overburdened with it. 

Bradford wasn’t especially sharp in the Rams’ season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles—he finished 17-for-30 with 188 yards, a performance redolent of his 2010 season with Pat Shurmur’s conservative offense—but he was victimized by drops, including a crucial one from rookie Lance Kendricks, and roughed up by way of an offensive line that looked duller still. Given A.J. Feeley’s ugly performance in his first regular season action since 2007 the Rams need a healthy Sam Bradford, and they need him next week. 

Word on Danny Amendola’s injury is expected to come Monday, though few doubt the severity of an injury that was as sudden as it was unpleasant to look at. Steven Jackson’s quad injury and Jason Smith‘s high-ankle sprain haven’t yet been divined, either.
