Rams vs. Seahawks score update: Sam Bradford drives St. Louis downfield for 1st touchdown
The St. Louis Rams responded to the Seattle Seahawks‘ second-quarter field goal with some points of their own, breaking through with a touchdown after coming up empty in the first to make the score 7-3. A two-yard pass to Austin Pettis put the exclamation point on the drive, giving Sam Bradford his career-high 21st touchdown of the season, but the most important play was a big run after the catch for Chris Givens, who took them 37 yards downfield.
Bradford is a solid 9-for-12 for 92 yards after the drive; Steven Jackson, at three carries for 15, got over 1,000 yards for the eighth season in a row during the drive.
The Seahawks’ offense has looked good so far but come up empty–but bending-but-not-breaking is a strategy that can only work for so long. Either the Rams’ defense will have to keep Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson down earlier in drives, so that no heroics are necessary, or Sam Bradford and company will have to keep up the pace. Or both, ideally. For more score updates, injury news, and analysis, stay tuned to SB Nation St. Louis.
