A 44-yard pass to Golden Tate from Russell Wilson made the difference, but the Rams defense gave the Seahawks their money’s worth in the red zone. That left Sam Bradford and the Rams offense with just 1:39 left on the clock and the ball at the 20-yard line.

Steven Jackson finished well over 1,000 yards after starting the game just 10 yards below the milestone, but it was Isaiah Pead’s five carries for 21 yards that might say just as much about the Rams’ 2013 season. The Rams’ second-round pick, who lost his job and nearly all his playing time to seventh-rounder Daryl Richardson after a terrible preseason, looked pretty good in an anomalous second-half drive.

Sam Bradford, meanwhile, looked good, and fell just short of completing another fourth-quarter comeback, but we still don’t know what he would look like outside a conservative offense. He finished 25-for-41 for 252 yards and a touchdown.

The Rams didn’t make the playoffs after all, but even putting themselves into that position was a win in Jeff Fisher’s first year on the job. Sunday’s game showed us everything, good and bad, that we learned about the team this year. This summer we’ll see what they learned.
