Rams Announce Season-Ticket Prices for 2016: Latest Details and Comments

Los Angeles football fans now know how much they will have to pay to see the new team in town.

The Los Angeles Rams announced pricing options for season-ticket packages on their official website Thursday. The release said, “There will be eight price categories available for purchase ranging from $360 to $2,025.”

Rams vice president Jake Bye commented on the pricing for the season tickets: “Our current pricing structure is reflective of our goal to make Rams football and our outstanding game day experience available to as many fans as possible.”

ESPN.com’s Darren Rovell shared a look at the various costs per section (h/t Arash Markazi of ESPN.com):

The press release pointed out 56,000 season ticket deposits were made in February, when the Rams held a “Welcome Home” campaign for the squad’s return to Los Angeles from St. Louis. It also noted those who cannot buy the tickets because of the high demand once the purchasing process starts in April will receive a handful of benefits, including a priority spot on the team’s wait list for Inglewood Stadium.

The Rams will start playing in Inglewood in 2019 after three seasons in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com provided a look at the Rams’ home opponents for the 2016 campaign. It is interesting that one of the eight home contests will be in London, especially for those who are interested in buying season tickets.

The Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers were all playoff teams in 2015, so fans will get the opportunity to see some quality football in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Handling those home showdowns against their NFC West rivals will be important for the Rams in their race toward the postseason, but a date with the defending NFC champion Panthers and MVP Cam Newton is also an enticing matchup for fans looking to fork over the money for season tickets.

Los Angeles supporters will also get an opportunity to watch defending Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year Todd Gurley carry the offensive load at running back. The Rams were only 7-9 in 2015, but Gurley provides reason for optimism moving forward after rushing for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns in his first season.

Los Angeles also boasts a solid defense that features Robert Quinn and Aaron Donald and finished 13th in the league in points allowed per game last year.

While having a potentially competitive team with notable stars will only add to the excitement, fans are likely just thrilled to have football back in Los Angeles. If the number of people who already made season ticket deposits is any indication, what some may see as hefty prices for the packages won’t do much to damper that early enthusiasm.
