NFL Mock Draft 2013: Could Rams take 2 offensive linemen in 1st round?

The St. Louis Rams could take two offensive linemen in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft, if Rob Rang of NFLDraftScout.com’s mock selections are any indication.

Rang has the Rams taking Michigan offensive tackle Taylor Lewan at No. 17 and Alabama guard Chance Warmack three spots later, where the Rams are projected to pick in lieu of the Washington Redskins.

The Rams could use some shoring up on their line, as only the Buffalo Bills have had more different players start at offensive line than St. Louis’ ten. They haven’t had good results at the position in recent drafts, either; only Rodger Saffold and Rokevious Watkins, who is on injured reserve, remain as homegrown offensive linemen on the roster.

Lewan, a junior, has yet to officially declare for the draft. If he does in fact become eligible, he will be somewhere around the No. 2 or 3 tackle in the draft class, according to ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.

Warmack, a senior, started all 26 of Alabama’s games in 2011 and 2012. He is rated as “exceptional” in five out of eight categories, as determined by ESPN.com.
