Jon Beason undergoes surgery

Carolina’s defensive leader Jon Beason could miss the season opener after undergoing surgery on his left foot. Beason underwent the surgery Tuesday according to Panthers coach Ron Rivera to alleviate Achilles tendinitis that has bothered Beason since May.
