Jim Harbaugh: 49ers ‘unlikely’ to release Alex Smith

Niners coach Jim Harbaugh said Friday it’s “unlikely” Alex Smith will be released this offseason, but he and the 49ers are seemingly angling hard to trade the former QB starter.
