Jim Caldwell hired by Detroit Lions as next coach

The Detroit Lions hired Jim Caldwell to be the team’s next coach, Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday. Caldwell takes the helm from Jim Schwartz, who was fired following a disappointing 7-9 season.
