Aldon Smith has fifth-year option exercised by 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers exercised the fifth-year option on Aldon Smith’s contract, Albert Breer reported Friday. Despite the pass rusher’s off-field issues, GM Trent Baalke secured Smith’s services through 2015.
