The St. Louis Rams are in an envious spot in the 2013 NFL Draft. Thanks to last year’s Robert Griffin III trade, St. Louis holds two first-round picks this year. SB Nation’s Dan Kadar projects them to select Alabama G Chance Warmack with their 16th pick, and California WR Keenan Allen at the 22nd spot.

Warmack is possibly the best guard prospect since Steve Hutchinson, and is at or near the top of nearly every draft analysts’ Big Board. The old “don’t draft guards early” stigma is the only reason he will fall this far:

If Warmack happens to be around when the Rams pick, they should set a land speed record for getting their pick to the commissioner’s podium. Plug Warmack into the left guard position, get him an extra short, stomach-showing jersey and forget about the position for a decade.

As for their next pick, Kadar expects the Rams to upgrade their WR position and give Sam Bradford more weapons:

…neither Brian Quick or Chris Givens projects out as a No. 1 target like Allen. He’s a big target who can play vertically and work underneath routes.

St. Louis finished a respectable 7-8-1 in 2012, and with these two picks are in a great position to make some real noise in the NFC West. The future is looking bright.
