The 2013 NFL Draft isn’t considered to have many elite talents, but the depth of the draft is excellent which should give the St. Louis Rams a number of options with the No. 16 pick.

If St. Louis targets a defensive player in the first round, they could attempt to fill a hole at safety. In his latest mock draft, Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com projects the Rams to select Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro. Jeremiah notes that while Vaccaro didn’t produce the best numbers at the NFL Scouting Combine, he is outstanding on tape. He is also versatile and could potentially play cornerback or either safety spot.

The Rams could also decide to go offense in the first round as SB Nation’s latest mock draft projects. Matthew Fairburn projected the Rams to take explosive wide receiver Tavon Austin. St. Louis has a few promising young receivers, but Austin could add another dangerous weapon for Sam Bradford.

One player St. Louis isn’t likely to get a chance at is former Missouri defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson. Jeremiah projects Richardson to go to the Panthers with the No. 14 pick while SB Nation has Richardson as the No. 3 overall pick.
